I have a '98 VX600 Twin (xtc 600) 8ca weights (no rivets), wh/sl/wh Primary spring, red secondary spring, 41/53 Helix, wound to 70#(#1bottom/#6top)

gearing is 23/40

engagement is 4,000 full shit 8100-8200 but its a dog at low rpm.... once I get to about 6000 it feels ok.... not great just ok......

I tryed 8ca weights with stock rivets and it dropped my rpm to about 7000....

I'm just looking for a good starting place, I couldnt find anything about the 600 twins just the triples....

someone suggested my springs might be worn out..... any thoughts are appreciated!!!!

also wondering if you know the difference in rivet weight and placement between the 8ca and 8ab.... i read that the profile is the same just different weights.....

Run a green secondary spring at 60 wrap. Run a 2.4 gram rivet in tip

Oh Yeah..... my Helix is a 54-42

Does that change much??? I didnt think it would but thought I would ask.....

ya it was an estwing and he was able to beat my 700 yesterday on gun lake but i have no studs. He is getting it together it was a long way off in the beginning getting into tuning now and i think it is becoming a little less stressful for him

much less stressed today!!! got some decent snow going to go test this new clutch set-up on some trails now.....

it was a hammer and my temper, I made it this far but I was alone in the garage..... got really really mad and saw the 'ol Estwing on top of the tool box just calling out to me!!!LOL

after talking to amatosrx he pointed out there is supposed to be a sleeve to keep from over tightening the main Secondary bolt...... well, I didnt have one.... it was drawn all the way tight and I probably couldnt have avoided taking it off the way I did!!! and boy oh boy It felt goooood!!!!
