hey fellas, the srx 700 i bought had br9ecs plugs in it instead of the 10ecs which the manual calls for. The sled has a hauck roller secondary, hauck growlers, transfer rods and 196 studs...I think everything else is stock but I'm not sure because i just bought this sled used and the guy didnt seem to know much about sleds. It revs to around 8700 rpm. should i keep the 9ecs plugs in or put in the 10ecs plugs. I looked at all plugs and they actually look pretty good with the br9ecs that are in it...I just wanted some other opinions.
and are you guys using your carb warmer or just keeping the valve off. when i bought the sled it was turned off.....thanks

There should be a ton of info in the search section about this stuff. Run br9ecs's get rid of the hauck growler, you'll be faster with the stock can. (unless you like the sound!)
You want to be running 8500 max on a long pull. and 8200 when you first pin it. I run my carb heaters in temps below 0* F or if I am following someone with a lot of snow dust. Oh and I run them if I am busting powder!

What year is your SRX ?

If it is a 98 you may want it to shift a little lower, peak HP is 8250 rpms and peak torque is a little lower.

I try to keep mine @ 8000-8100 out of the whole and build to 8300, the older SRX 700 will retard the timing when you get up around 8500. I could be off a little. Gearing, snow conditions, belt temp, and air TEMP plays a big role in your shift points. If you really get it pulling hard out of the hole be prepared for it to fall on its face in warmer weather if you don't hook up.

The newer SRX 2000 and up, could run higher RPM because of the diffrent CDI box and port timing.

I am a little rusty at my facts so do your research, or I could pull my info out if no one else gives input.

Sorry for the extra input, it's just that if it has the stock clutching you could gain a number of sled length's on your buddys just by getting the shift points down and use diffrent weights.

As Riverrunner stated their is some low buck performance mods listed to help you.
