This may be an odd question but what is the compatibility of other brands primary clutch on a Yamaha crank?Are they all basically the same 30mm 1:10 taper?I've seen a few posts in the past where guys have used Polaris primaries but wonder why that is.Is it because they are easier to tune or are they more efficient or what?There is a local guy here that is using a Doo primary on his V Max as a result of destroying his stocker after a wayward well casing drove up into the bellypan and took it out.What would you guys use if you were to replace the Yamaha primary with another brand?

I'd be using a Polaris only because I have a couple drawers full of pieces/parts and a couple assemblies. Don't know about compatability with the crank but I too have read about guys bolting it right up. I can't see it being anymore efficient and unlike a Doo it functions very much the same as a Yamaha or Cat.
