hi my dcs lite is coming on the other nite while racing a zr 900 i let off when he came on is this normal i was running premium gasoline any hep would be appreciated oh and it did not go into fail safe.

TORS is coming on. What RPM's? If you hold the throtle open for too long the TORS will come on to save the engine...

You could try jetting it to 2001 SRX specs and see if that helps.

X2...and make sure you are always running fresh premium.

If the engine temp was getting high[even without the overtemp light], due to lack of fresh snow for cooling, you can get the DCS at times as well.

dcs senses detonation only. You can be 10 sizes lean & blow the motor to bits & dcs won,t go off.

well it was on a river the snow wasnt great but i was not worried about over heating i was probly doing about 100 to 110 every time this would happen. will a warmer engine detonate easier?

Yes...I find my 2002 SRX DCS triggers more readily after a slow, poor snow for cooling, trail ride then an immediate full throttle burst, as I come onto a long strait stretch or lake.
There have been a lot of SRX DCS issue posts over the years and a lot of guys have gone to the 2001[richer] jetting to help elliminate the DCS issues.

i dont thnik it is the jetting only because its only the second time this has happpend could it be a pv causing this

my SRX jetted to 2001 and dcs really has been off on all runs, rides and wot
pulls for a mile and more for last 2 years. Only had a light coming on last few weeks ago because of broken PV cable and that is it!!!

thanks guys this site is so helpful nice to find a group of guys so dedicated to theses sleds because imo they are the best two stroke machine ever built

Thats what I found today. Got more DCS after running on icy thin snow trails than after coming off a nice snowy 2 track. If the engine water temp is real warm before the wide open run, the DCS comes on--in my case today.

Also, I chewed a belt today and had to use another old Yami belt thats slightly shorter and with the super tight belt the light was coming on constantly on the way back. Got back to the cabin, put on another used 8DN and no light. So that tells me clutching/belt issues can deff affect the DCS...

I changed to AMSOIL interceptor the other week.My light would come on in go snow conditions at WOT.So I went back to the klotz oil that I had and light stop blinking.I also ran a tank of fuel that contained no ethanol. We had two '02 ,the other just ran yamalube. His light only came on once.We thought maybe just the fuel we had bought during the week of riding.

Doubt the oil has much affect on the DCS but Im not laughing at the theory either. It was almost 40 degrees and I had all kinds of DCS blinking at me yesterday. Not sure if its the random 3-5 gallons top offs at various gas stations lately or the warmer air temps and the engines water is running a little warmer--or a combo of the two together?
Last year in early April in the UP we rode in similiar conditions as yesterday--slushy, soft and warm and saw the DCS all day. A month ago it was 2 below zero, trails were solid and flat and never saw the light once? Makes sense that a warmer engine will detonate easier...
