Just did a couple hundred mile run. Put new plugs in before I left. Got back and pulled the plugs out. ( I always do this just to see if everything is running right) When I pulled cyl 3 out it looked good, pulled cyl 2 and the same, pulled 1 out and it looked as if it were brand new still. No coloring on it whatsoever. Well, that alarmed me. First thought to check to see if there was spark, spark was good. Next was to check the compression. That was good. Now I am left with maybe carb? Or maybe powervalve issue? Anyone have any insight that would help me out? Am I on the right track here with what I am thinking? Or could it be something totally different? Anyone experience this before?

Does the plug look like it was burning at all. Their is a big difference whether it looks to be burning lean or it looks like the plug just came out of the box. I would fire up the sled and touch the tripple pipes just a couple of inches off the cylinder to see if all three feel like the same temp. Keep moving your hand from one to other back and forth over all three. Try to determine if the cylinder is firing and producing heat. This test should take all of about 30 seconds. All season long we have heard the same story of a clogged pilot jets. Its an easy fix if you can roll the carb rack over and clean the jets. What ever you do don't run the sled till this is fixed.

Looks as if it just came out of the box. I am going to dig into it here in a bit. Thanks for the advice. I cleaned the carbs before the season started but with the quality fuel we get anymore it is hard to tell. I could have sucked something in there and plugged it up. We shall see.

Ok, took the bowl off that carb with no sign of gas. I pulled the start cord to see if gas was coming out and there was gas coming from the hose. Which leads me to believe there is a blockage in the line or the float was sticking. I didn't see any reason why it would be sticking though. Any ideas why the gas isn't making it to the carb?

Yeah, thanks to the dealer telling me just to clean the pilot and main and I should be good to go. Umm, no. I just bought this sled at the end of last year. Went from the ole 1996 vmax 600xt to this. Now I should be able to feel the power these things offer everyone talks about with this problem fixed.
