My 98 SRX 700 need secondary clutch buttons. Where do I get these, the yamaha dealer wants 100.00 plus for three of them. Im not paying that much for 3 pieces of plastic. Thanks

Most of the mail order houses have them (Dennis Kirk, J R Graham, ShadeTree, High Performance Engineering).

There are several online dealers.

Did you try Port Yamaha?

I don't think I paid over $20 for 3 of them.

Do you need part # 8AV-17688-10-00 ?

Not sure of the number, but the dealer had a hard time finding three of them because he considered them vintage. Almost had a heart attack over the price. Looked at dennis kirk, couldnt find them there.

I think I paid about 3 bucks apiece for them at a local rec shop here, never priced them at the yammi dealer. At that price I wonder if he looked up the right part.

Port yamaha has them for 15.50 a piece. Lot better than 100 bucks for all 3. Try online aftermarket com they are cheaper but don't last as long. Maxdlx

hiperformance enginering has them for like 1 buck a piece. After Market Button - Yamaha(Reference #357-603)

Be carefully with aftermarket buttons I've had some junk over the years that seem to wear out fast,I'm just saying.....

Im going to try the HPE buttons. The picture looked different than what I have, Ill see. Thanks

I tried the spi brand buttons which were $1.50 a piece.I just adjusted my secondary twist and they showed rather noticeable at 1,200 miles on those buttons.I think this coming fall I'll bite the bullet and get the oem's as they went almost 9,000 miles before needing replacement.I even wonder how much they affect shifting if there wearing so quickly and maybe getting sticky when hot, who knows???

OEM are a more stronger graphite, last Way longer, shop around on line should be able to do better on the price.
