Just an FYI. If you have an IPASS have you checked what the ILL Toll way is charging you? I looked up the past history of my IPASS and almost fell on the floor. I have never checked my history or even thought to look. I am set up on auto pay to recharge the IPASS. Well they charge $25 for tolls round trip from I-55 to the Wisconsin boarder. Thats for 5 tolls covering about 70 miles. Thats for a passenger vehicle and a single place trailer. WOW. That is ridiculous. The Waukegan toll alone is $4.25 if you have a trailer. Those guys are nuts.. but they got you by the balls.
do you go thru the booth or just blast thru the fly by lanes ??

The cost is rediculous no matter if you use IPASS or not. How the hell can they justify that amount for a single axle trailer and a passenger vehicle.
illinois is still trying to collect money for blago's legal fee's....

There are a number of reasons I avoid Illinois. Toll roads are just one of them. If I can't avoid Illinois I try not to spend any money there.
I carry a gun whenever legal to do so with my Michigan license and I used to travel a lot between Michigan and Texas. All the states along the way except Illinois recognise my Michigan carry permit.
Just before entering Illinois I would stop for coffee and gas and secure my gun in the trunk as required in Illinois. I could then travel all the way through Illinois without spending a dime there. When I got to Missouri or Indiana depending on direction, I would stop for gas, food, and re-holstering of my gun. I know Illinois doesn't give a damn what I do, but it makes me feel better not giving them any of my cash.

That's why I don't really go to Illinois anymore. Outside of a few fish stores I go to to feed my reef tank hobby, I have no reason to go there really.
If I really want to go there, I skirt around the tolls if possible.

I am going to Tomahawk area Friday. I just planed my trip around the tolls. Will hit just a few around Rockford. I will spend the extra 25 elsewhere.

that's cheap. Round trip on the 407ETR, QEW-Markam, ontario...57 miles each way is $43.12 & that's w/o a trailer.

I did nearly the same thing, but it was an off ramp and no spike strips. I had to get to get my Fiance to O hare asap. The plane from MKE was broken and they wouldn't be able to get another plane to Chicago in time. They sent a bus, but that was so full I took the mustang and hauled butt and beat the bus.
It was like a 35 cent toll, and I had no change. I got her to her connecting flight in time, and never heard anything about it.

You import those up here by leaving them behind. LOL
In all seriousness, the money people from Illinois spend when they come north to WI sure helps out the economy way up there.
