I purchased this sled at the begaining of year. (5200 miles)
Have gone through the carbs, clutches, compresstion ect.
Spent this weekend up north, my daughter rode the sled, some off trail mostly on toat roads. It does smoke but does not leave the snow black when sitting idailing. plugs are black.
on average 8-9 miles /gallon. uses almost twice what my 700's do. (01 700 MM and 02 viper). The oil is adjusted and the comsuption is high but think it's just because all the fuel it's using. Double checked the main jets thinking it might of had pipes on it at sometime. has 160's /book.
is this a normal amount of fuel usage?
I think I read some were the 600 twins are hard on fuel.
tks

Thats would be normal!!!! It has smart carb on it. I have a 97MM and 98SX both 600 and both get about 8 to 10 mpg. It should use about 1 quart of oil to a tank of fuel. Thats why I am looking at getting a 4 stroke nytro xtx.

I do know out of the sleds in my signature my viper does the best with the fuel / oil. Look for a viper and you will be alot happier with the fuel mileage

Yammie twins = suck down oil/gas & primary clutch bushings.
