taking the aaens off my 01 srx, and i know the previous owner forsure richened the main jets, so going back to stock jets and stock pipes, but think he may have mentioned changing the pilot jets also. stock is 40.
would i notice anything running it totally stock with a richer pilot jet, say a 45 or 50?

I find the 40's a bit lean on the bottom. I like to run 42.5's on a stock motor.

alright. maybe those are what he put in there. but would i notice anything performance wise if they are 45's?
i ask because i dont want to have to buy pilots if i dont have to.. they are expensive

You need more fuel to leave hard off the line if you are racing it. You can run the 45's also.

thanks, i should be fine then. is there a number on the pilots that says 42.5 or 45 on them, so I can check when i have the carbs off?

if you got 45's in there and its a bit burbly/rich, then just turn in the fuel screw like a 1/8 turn and try that.
i'm w/valin....love 42.5 pilots on stock srx. hate the 40 pilots. enough idle hang as is w/stock 42.5's on some sleds, much less w/40's.
