primary is a blue white blue
8DN-20 weights with 4.5grams in both holes
Secondary has a pink spring not sure what its wound to tho.
43/51 Apex helix.
14"x1x121 track
it runs 8600-8700 rpm with the aaen pipes, should be at 8500. going to put on stock exhaust this weekend, hoping to get the r's where it needs to be.

on the trail in about a half mile, speedo has seen about 110mph. wondering if i should go to a totally different set-up, or keep what i got. a xp 600 jumps be about a half a sled from about 40-80, and i then i go past him. doesnt seem right to me... might have been trail conditions etc.looking to outrun a few stock xcr 800's this weekend on the lake...

dont want to have to spend a ton. found some 8bu-10's i can buy if those would help... input please

I will say this 1 last time...the 51/43 is not the right helix to be using with 8dn-20,s in a srx. I have posted this a gazillion times & nobody listens.

You need a steeper helix. Helix,s I have used with good success with 8dn-20 weights
54/44
52/44
52/48
53/47

I am ;)!

that pink spring in the secondary fine? Are those helixs oem yamaha? Just wonderig what sleds I could get them from etc
out of those listed which would be fastest top end and accelerating?

You should have a red secondary spring but it might look pink. The 2nd part of your question is totally 100% impossible to answer.

alright. the guy i got it from said he thought he had put a pink in there... but i am hoping it is red. will look again when i am at home. two helix's I found forsale are Bender 54/46 helix, Micro Belmont 52/46 helix. would either of these work?

otherwise until i find one of those, would the stock 47* helix work fine also until I found something better?

The micro 52/46 should work well at 80 or 90 wrap.
The 54/46 Bender is wayyy too much helix as they are cut very aggressive & I think you should sell it to me as it would work well in my turbo rx1.

i dont have it, just found it in the classifieds... also it is indeed a pink secondary spring in it... i should put a red in?

and you say 80 or 90 wrap with the red spring correct?

run the red..the pink is a 4 stroke spring & is way too much.

maybe thats why i am only pulling about 110 on the dream meter. I'll buy a red also. getting the 52/46 belmont helix and brand new red spring for $90 shipped. is that a decent price? helix has 30 miles on and spring new.

i believe aaen srx pipes like 8700-8800. you can try it at 8500 too tho. you'll feel it right away, by the seat of the pants, wether or not the motor likes it. talk to sideshowbob on here, as he has those aaen pipes.

8800 with the stock cdi?

talked with bob, he said on a stock motor, cant beat performance and reliability of the stock pipes. he is sure he could make the stock pipes faster than the aaens. difference happens when you go to a ported motor though, then aftermarket becomes better. so unless i am after just weight savings, stock, which is what i am planning on swaping to friday.

at 8700, you're @ 8deg of timing, if i remember right vs. 8500 and 9deg. that 1deg timing loss to me is nothing.

2000+ SRX timing:

7750 - 18 degrees
8000 - 13.5 degrees
8250 - 10 degrees
8500 - 9 degrees
8750 - 8 degrees
9000 - 4 degrees
9250 - 0 degrees

Hey is peak hp on stock porting 83 or 8500?

'00-'02 srx is approx 8500.

'98-'99 srx is approx 8300.

Is that crank/dyno peak or tach peak? Usually you run 150-200 over the crank dyno's number for real world to the snow tuning due to driveline losses.
I assume 00-02's out there are not turning 8650-8700...
