What is the story behind Vmax-4's? I have a 96 Vmax600 with pro-action and I absolutely love this sled on the trails.

I've heard the Vmax-4's are ridiculously fast on the lakes. How nimble are they on the trails? I see a few for sale... and I'd consider getting rid of my Mach 1 for one..

Thanks for the link I will go give it a look!! Google searches are spotty on the Vmax-4.

I have a 1994 Vmax-4 which has 10,000 miles on it. Almost all of that mileage was accumulated on long trail ride tours across Quebec. That sled NEVER let me down and continues to be a BLAST to ride. I found it to be a great trail sled for my type of riding. Many complained about relatively poor gas mileage but I could get 110 -120 miles to a tank with a conservative riding style. I added a hydraulic brake which greatly improved the braking. There are quite few for sale at really good prices. If I had the room and time to work on it, I would be looking for a 1995 or 1996 model since they are 800 CC displacement.

The Vmax-4 is a "body english" style sled on the trails vs the point and shoot style of the trailing arm designs.
I have a 1997 700SX but 99% of the time when I hit the trails it's on my Vmax-4 - it's just more fun to me!

Years ago I road alot with someone that had a 92 vmax 4 750 and it was stupid fast at mid and top, I am sad to say I had a indy 650 very well built and we both had agressor tracks made by kimpex and off the line I would win but at 50 he was coming and hard at 80 he was pulling on me hard then he was gone, But with the pogo stick front shocks when we got into rough stuff he was all done, Bottem line the pogo front end of the Vmax 4 makes it a lake racer, Get one supercherge it and hold on if U don't it will throw U, They're collectors items I think.
