(07/08 ) Well it started life out as a 99 500 sx, bought it from BeTheViper back in the winter of 07/08. It had a broken piston skirt on the left side, so my father and I rebuilt it and I was very happy with it considering I was riding an old ski poo tundra lt. I rode it that way for the rest of the season.
(08/09) Frist thing it had done to it was long travel vipers shock up front sxr and venture in the back. Painted the hood screen white and wind shield black. all so borrowed arrow and tripple threat skis from BTV. recommend both skis to any one.
(09/10) Well we haven't had the best snow this year but I have been trying to make do. First I blew the old crap track that was a given I knew it was and should have been going fast but shart happens. So we thought a ripsaw in and I was off again, a week or so after that I had just left BTV shop and knew she wasn't running right but hoped it would come out of it, after mabye 5 more min. I knew something wasn't right so back to the shop I went. Compression checked it 125 psi and 25 psi in the left one again.
Well decided to do an over haul. I "hang-out" at BeTheVipers shop so him and my dad where talking about putting a 600 tripple in that he just got on trade. I was all for it, so it begins... pulled the old twin out and stripped it down to practically nothing. Frist thing is first had to move the motor mounts well that ment taking the track out in order to get a wrench on the mount bolts.
Well got that all squared away then I had to put in a tripple harness and all the stuff for that. 3rd changed the steering shaft thing for a reinforced one that had a kink for carbs got that done. next was putting it in it went well kind good kind bad I had forgot to hook a hose on the oil pump lucky dad found it few... took it back out hooked it on and set it back in. Had BTV line up the clutches and help me get ever thing set up right carbs, oil, throttle etc. After that it was time to extend it 136 here I come got extensions from ulmer racing, a 1.5 track and drivers from a msrx. Also bought reverse, 4 inch block and 2 inch articulating risers. mnt max cables and electric start from 01Vmax89. A Boss high rise flat top seat and mnt viper hose covers from MtnMax600. o yea and soon to be boost bottle havent made it yet have the boots installed.
All so big thanks to Scott White for all the help and use of his shop and tools and to my dad It was tough at times but had a great time working on it with ya.
Pic's here could figure out how to post but this works I Hope. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2049451&id=1302943982&l=71fd722cfb

This sounds like a good upgrade! I may be doing this in the future to my 99 500 sx but i think id go 700 if I could find one cheap enough.
Good work!

haha I figured in the future maybe, It is just switching jugs, pistons, and a head. I got the 600 for a good deal and wanted to port some 700 jugs to throw on, but I am very happy with just the 600 for now
