02 srx Melted Piston

Melted down my center cyl today. I noticed the seam between crankcase halves seems to be cleaner in the middle cyl area like fuel had washed it. Don't know if this is leaking and caused the lean burn down, it is kind of hard to tell. Is this a common problem with these. also I have a parts 01 srx can the dcs off the 02 be switched onto the 01 engine?

yea it should be ok, the dcs is all electronic.
