1. Well I cleaned the clutches.
2. Took them apart to check everything out.
3. cleaned the sheaves of the glaze.
4. Cleaned new belt and put it on.
5. checked the offset.
6. checked center to center
7. primary spring is black with blue. (maybe bender)
8. secondary spring is black with green dot
9. has bender helix (9760 - 49/45)
10. secondary spring is 80*
11. 2 washers in the secondary
11. engages at 4100-4200 rpm
12. 136 track with STOCK ENGINE
Well after all this work my belt height is way to low. I tried the oem spring deg and it was worse. I tried different deg with and without bolts and washers.
I found out that at 90 deg on the spring and the bolts and washers out the belt is just about right but could go up a little. I think with the bolts and washers in it will have to be at 100* then it should be fine.
It shows that the secondary spec is 60* not 80*
What would you do? What is the problem?
I am not sure what to do

Is 90* to much?

Anyone?
You can't go by the stock secondary setting with an aftermarket helix. Try it at 90 and see how it does. My warrior stock calls for 60, bu I run 90 witht he Ulmer kit in it

So are you saying the helix will change the ride height?
Are you saying there is more pressure on the oem helix so the belt would be moved up?

are you sure the 3 bolts on the back aren't worn down?

Yea they look good. I checked all this stuff out for a week now while the sleds were in the garage. I am going through all 4 sleds I have and this one seems to be a problem.
It is very odd if you ask me. I am wondering if I put a new secondary spring on will this change the ride height.... I wish I had one to try.....

I still have the other 3 sleds to try and finish before the next storm comong up....
It is very frustrating right now....
If you have time to talk or want to talk you can call me on my cell 717 629 7237
call anytime....

How old is the belt? Are there any washers behind the 3 bolts in the back? You mention 2 washers in the secondary...where are they exactly?

Belt is brand new. Right now the 3 bolts and 6 washers are out. They are on my work bench While I was testing. It is hard to explain on here but I found out if you keep winding the spring tighter the belt will start to rise. So here I am going from 80 to 90 and thinking going to 100 to get the belt back to height.
At 80 it is about 20mm below the secondary sheave....
20mm or 2 mm, if it is 20 something is way wrong there
Check the belt height with the secondary off the sled. Often the secondary will not close all the way to show you proper initial setting.

Yep just did that. It shows a little high with it wound at 90 without the bolts and washers...
As soon as you put it on and run the sled it drops to far. Also We were looking at putting the belt on and off we can't get the belt to raise about the sheave because the belt is to tight. The sheaves are closed but now the belt is to far down....

What he said lol.
And a tip for on sled testing...put it on the stand and run it up, then let it coast to a stop (don't use the brakes!!). That should get the belt to it's natural resting spot.

yes that is what I did every time and that is my thought on getting the belt where it needs to be. This is where I am finding the problem.
It looks good till I run it and let it coast. The belt is down to far. Wind the spring tighter test again. The belt is higher. 60 ...80...90 now it is near where it needs to be without the screw and washers.
I think if I wind it to 100* and pla around with the washers and bolt I can get it where it needs to be...
I am worried about the spring being at 100* where the oem spec is 60*

I am not sure but if it is the one when sled was new then it has 3000 on it.
it sounds like the spring is too weak ! get a different spring in there and try it.

It seems that way but but this all started with the clutches making some noise not about the belt riding to low.
The old belt was fine on height but was shot so it was underspec when everything was taken apart. So made sure the belt was bad by spinning it around ..found out there was a low spot in it so went on with getting the new belt ready to put on....
I got new belt on and this is what happened......
You might be right who knows.......

I am going to wind it to 100* and see what happens. I am working on this now. Hopefully it will be to high and can back it down with the washers then go for a ride.....
