My 2000 SXR 7000 feels like it is loading up with fuel between 5000 & 6000rpm
Sled is all stock
Should I just try to change the needle chip setting?

So I have two spacers on the needle clip...is that normal?

You should have one c-clip and two thin plastic spacers
Well I only have one spacer now
Has anyone else had a problem like this??

Where is the clip and spacers?
The clip is in the third spot with two spacers
As in the middle slot? Middle slot with the 2 spacers under the e-clip is the stock position. I would check float heights, make sure the float needle and seat are sealing well, clean the carbs good, make sure you check out the main slide needles to make sure their not bent or chipped/broken. If everything checks out ok on the carbs, I would set the pilot screw to the stock setting as well. While you have the carbs off, now would be a good time to check out the reed petals. Have you done a compression check?
Everything was in the stock postion except I didn't check the pilot screw
Compression is good
New reeds
I will check the float height
It was a liitle warm out and I did have the carb heater turned on, so I'm sure that didn't help

I'm having the same problem with a 500. It's been doing this for about 3 seasons now, and been to 2 different shops with no luck. I cleaned the carbs, and clutches which fixed the problem for 2 days. Now it's back.....

Dropped my needles half a position. Just take the one plastic washer from the bottom and put it on the top of the needle. Made it run cleaner.
