I was an all out great day to ride,about -4 C here and sunny.River is packed down,but a little rough.Ran stock primary with w-w-w and 51/43 with red spring at 60.Clutches ran totally cool today with all the high speed runs I did.Motor is super snappy as well,0 to 100 instantly.Got up to 104 on the speedo today and that is at 8500-8600 rpms wot.If it were smooth ice,would of picked up more mph.

Anyways coming into a corner at a good clip,,suddenly I notice something weird..a small airplane comes around the outside of the corner and caught my eye..then from the inside of the corner there comes another plane..right in my pathway..his wheels where my head height.Wohaa!!I cranked the SRX to the right and the plane pass's by.Lucky he didn't dip his wing down..lol

Any way I was still riding down the river and these planes must have turned around over land ,cut across and dropped in front of me again.Now I say to myself..lets Race Man!!!I new a 1 mile plus stretch was coming up soon.One was way ahead of me,the yellow(I call him doo) was to the right of me.Now both basically had there wheels like 3 feet off the surface.These guys were doing maneuvers down and around the corners.I now start to pin it...keeping an eye on the yellow doo..lol.Was doing 80 mph around the corner before that long stretch..and then held it to the bar.I started climbing on the guy..he is to the right of me..full eye contact.I was gaining and then past the goof doo and was heading to go get the first plane.I was gaining on him to and almost had him..he was right there.that I basically could of reached over and touched him.His wheels were like 2 feet of the river.But at 104 and a corner coming up..I had to back off.Man did this ever feel great.How many of you can say you beat a plane with the SRX...Lovin it..... ;)! ;)!
 
and these are not utra lights planes.There way larger.Wing span I am guessing..not sure...10 maybe 15 feet..can't verify it.But them guys shouldn't be com ing around a corner so tight and low like that.Any lower and he would of wiped me off the sled.....He was only 2 feet above the river in the straigh away.Man it would of been cool to see them slam into the river...lmao.Well maybe not..but the yellow doo like would of been cool!!!! ;)! :2strokes:
 
And oh yeah.Yesturday riding with my nephew..I was about 3/4 mile ahead of him on the 600.Saw 3 deer in the middle of the river and slowed down until they started to scatter to the river bank and pinned it again.After a bit I looked back and nephew was stay way back..so I waited.He finally arrived and stopped.He told me he almost hit a deer..it came out so fast that he missed it by like 2 feet.That woke him up !!! :o|
 
Great hockey game Canada..Gold Medalists..way to go...want to go and find them friggin planes again and video tape.Probably they will be out again next weekend.Have seen them last year to play games and flying low and into the corners...
 
jealous!!!!!Next weekend we are getting the video cameras out and going to see if we can find them planes again..that was friggin coolI'll tell ya passing the motherfriggindoolike plane..flmao.But in all seriousness they have to keep there wheels a little higher off the river...lolwas a close call around the inside corner.I could of jumped off my sled and grabbed the friggin wheels of that plane no shit.Best day ever.I will be riding every day now since the weather is good and SRX is running great.Winter is now good out here..loving it.

Weird Doug, never seen those out cruising the river before lol Glad to hear your breaking the 100 mark. I will be out next weekend if you guys are riding for sure, no overtime . I downloaded a new gps ap for my phone that records top speeds too so you can put it in your pocket and do a couple runs and it will record the top speed, pretty cool!!
 
Thats a Cessna 150. Seen them on the river before. Had one do a touch and go right in front of me last year near the floodway gates.Came around the corner and saw a huge cloud of snow dust. It was hard to tell what the heck it was. Plane was all white. There were alot of sleds on the river that day and was very surprised that the pilot even attempted a t&g.
 
Well can you imagine my thoughts when I was leaving the St.Adolphe bridge and taking that first corner left and that friggin plane was coming around the inside corner right at me..wheel hieght to my head.Can see the headlines..snowmobiler on SRX clipped by Cessna on the Red River.But it was really cool passing the yellow one on the river and nearly catching the white one..lol
 
Your nephew's close call with a deer reminds me... 3 weekends ago I was out riding the kids' old Cheetah. I came around a corner where there was large snowbank and a hugh deer jumped right over the top of me and a smaller one jumped out behind me and then they ran up and over the highway, the big one almost cleared the road in one jump. That was pretty cool.
 
yeah cool until you hit the damn deer..then it is a different ball game.Nephew is a new rider..would hate to have to call my sister and tell her something happened to her only son.That is what worries me.
