Hey guys so Ive decided to swap out my srx shocks for some long travel viper ones. The question I have is my buddy has some spare shocks (viper) I think and Im wondering how do I find out for sure what sled there from, like what are the measurements of the shocks? Also ive heard that the stock viper shocks were quite firm so would it be possible to have the shocks valved softer(I weigh 180 with riding gear on). And finally just to be sure to do the swap I basically just need the two shocks, the viper limiter straps, and the longer transfer rods? Thanks :2strokes:

If you are going to long travel the Srx. You realy should do all four shocks.
You need the longer limiter straps and the plastic shims in the transfer rods for a Viper.
Factory 02 Viper shocks are very firm. If they are 02's send them out for revalving. Makes a huge improvement.

just wonderin stein if you know the length of the viper shocks just to be sure? Cause my buddy has these shocks and the longer limiter straps. So I was already planning on getting these shocks revalved to be less firm and was thinking about just looking for a front set of ohlins shocks, but you mentioned going long travel all the way around wouldnt I need special mounts for the front?

can get mounts for viper for the front, some on here have got them. they measure 17 inches eye to eye, i used a set of ohlins that were 15 1/2" that worked nice, not sure but think they came off an rx1 or something like that. they still have the male ends on the shocks, viper, sxr, and xtc use the clevice style mount on the shock. definitely makes a big diffrence, and i also recomend doing fronts as well, will make it a whole new machine.
