Looks goodbluemonster1 said:took these out this am..what are you guys getting off these in terms of motor running.Oil ratio is set at 50:1 right now.

Im at about 55-60:1 but if your concerned about oil ratio, checking the plug color and carbon build up will get you in trouble. Stay around 50:1 and run good oil and your fine...

yeah went out for a 50 mile run today..perfect day with -4 C and Sunny.Man the SRX performed excellent today.Really snappy from launch and mid range. Can't beat these triples.Had my transfer rods adjusted to much..because I was always lifting ski's at launch.Dialed them down some and now does she ever launch great and forward.Doing 100 mph down the ditches with no problem.Went to the river and got her up to 105 today.Ran my oil cable for a little richer to see if there is any difference in performance on a warm day. Will put back to 50:1 again.I may remove 24 studs to make it 96 from the 120 to see if I can pick up some mph to.
Clutching now is 8DN-20's 4.5 both holes..w-w-w primary spring. 51/43 helix with red spring at 60.I basically launch at 8300 down to 8200 and jumps to 8600 fast.Over reving still, may put a washer under the outside rivet.Have brand new belt also. The clutches are totally cool after the high speed runs.Found a stretch of smooth ice on the floodway that was about a mile long.Wanted to see if I could pick up mph.One thing for sure..with studs and on ice ..my launch was wicked and accelerated so fast that it scared the pants right off me..compared to launching on snow. But I was to chicken to keep it wot to the end..being on ice..even though the studs were keeping me straight..chickened out...sorry.

You need to try a 54/44,it's a better helix for the srx.

I don't have one right now and probably won't get one unless it is next riding season. But for all around performance from a launch to 100mph..can't beat it.I don't race anyone out here..so going for 120 mph is for dreamers with $$$$.The motor is peppy and responsive as hell and that's what I like with the SRX.Especially mid range pull..is great daman. It starts good..runs good and the triple sounds good.Never had an issue in the last 2 years with fuel or the DCS going on.. this is one tough sled. But I probably will do a rebuild this summer/fall on it as well as the 600.I will have to learn how and with your help should be easy....I hope.

PS: At least I have never blown a Yamaha triple motor yet as they seem so simple to keep in tune with regular maintenance.I am not afraid of riding 50 to 100 miles away from my house myself. They have always brought me home...

Yup it's all in the maintaining!!
a 54/44 would load the motor more thus keeping your rpm's in check.
but i know how you love drilling them rivets out all the time so carry on,lol

actually I hate drilling them friggin rivets out to tell you the truth..they should of come up with a better way....

Hey blue,,, use machine bolts and jam nuts.... I'm running 5.2 grams in tip of 8dn-20's, running green spring at 70 with a 51/45 haulk.. If I'm on ice it will pin speedo and say 112-115 on gps.... may take a little longer but I like the cruse speed for trail riding of 5500-6000 rpm at 60 mph...... Get 12-13 mpg.....

Its called Heel Clickers or Heavy Hitters ^^^^^^^^
Got my first weights ordered from haulk (4.5) and he sent me nuts & bolts.. Now I take my gram scale to hardware store and get what I want. Jam nuts are needed to have clearance,, and washers can be added for additional weight.....

Hauck sells them for pretty cheap. That's where I got my 5.0's and my 5.5's. Brought my r'spm right down to where I needed it.
Yes, blue,,, jam nuts are a thinner profile,, just use a dab of removable loctite.. they will not come loose.. so much easier to tune your clutch... Or order them from hauck... cheaper then rivets..... (button head machine screws & jam nuts)

I couldn't find them in Haucks web site.Where do you find them there then???
I called and talked to them on the phone..... Ordered my helix, spring and 4.5g rivets,,, was surprised when I found out he sent me nuts & bolts.. They were right on the money weight wise,,,, and I was much happer when I wanted to add weight to them,,,, those rivets are a PITA......
