My fuel gauge on my 02 viper(5300 mi) doesn't seem to be working right. The fuel light will come on and when I fill the tank I end up putting about 7 gal. in it. That means there is 5 left in the tank, almost 1/2 full yet. Just wondering if any other vipers do this also. This is the first winter that the fuel gauge has acted like that. This is my third season with this sled and so far I love it, aside from being better than most sleds out there, it looks that way also.

I have been having a similar kinda issue with my SRX. With about a 1/4 tank of fuel it spits, sputters and wants to crap out. I can look in the tank and see that the pick-up is still imersed in fuel. What gives?

Mine has been doing the same thing this year. I figured I caught the float arm in the tank when I was siphoning the old gas out this fall and bent it up slightly. I am going to pull the tank this spring and check it out. Real disheartening when you are out in BFE and the fuel light comes on and you don't really know how much you have.

I don't think I bent anything as it was more accurate earlier in the year, lately it just seems to be all over the place. When I fill it it doesn't always read full on the gauge, but then it drops like a rock over the first 1/2 tank. Light was on the other night and I borrowed 2.5 gallons from my uncle and it went to just under 1/2 tank, rode for 20-25 miles and the light came back on. I don't get it!

Any chance that is a stator related problem? I've had strange electrical issues in the past, nothing major but I have noticed my headlights dim when I hit the brakes and the hand/thumb warmers get hot when I turn down the other thumb/hand warmers.
