98 SRX Speedo Question

My speedo is not working. I read over all the other post about checking the cable and the "key". But also it does not light up. The high beam light comes on but not the gauge light. Is there any chance that it could be an electrical issue or is the gauge only manual controlled.

I just got into snowmobiling this year and am still pretty new to it all. I have a raptor 700 to ride in the summer but it does jack in the winter so that is why I picked up the sled.

Any recommendations on a good super waterproof pair of paints or bibs. I have really good snowboarding gear but my rear still ends up wet.

I have the same problem on my '98. I use my GPS as my speedo. I don't care about the odometer, I am never getting rid of it. But would like to know why also.

Speedo is mechanical (cable driven),, probably bad bulb for the back light...
