Well one of my buddies friends needs cash like ASAP, and he is trying to get me to buy his SRX, its a 99 700 with about 2000 miles on it. I am thinking about buying it and parting it out. He wants a grand for the sled and I guess its pretty clean. I am going to take a look at it of course and see what condition it is in, but I figured I could make some money off this sled if I were to part it out, what do you guys think?
is there anything wrong with it

why part it out 
, i don't understand why some guys tear them all apart if they are in good running condition. i can appreciate that you can make a few bucks more but why do that to a perfectically good sled. ride it that's what they are made for.

good price, and i wouldn't part out that sled... especially if its in the condition described. for 1000, buy it and ride it. thats pocket change haha
According to my buddy the guy just never rides it, and he needs the money. I will see what its like and base my decision off that. I mean I would like to keep it and mess with it but that means I would be dumping more money into an older sled. Thats the only reason I would part it out. Plus I know I could get atleast 1500+ for parts.
Let me go buy it for $1000 and then you don't have to deal with it LOL
Well my buddy just sent me pictures of it and wow is it clean looking. I may turn it into a mountain sled.....so many ideas....lol

Buy it,ride it, and enjoy it. Part it out when it dies! If you need the money in this poor economy sell it as a complete sled, there are many Yamaha fans that would pay well over your buying price.
