what's wrong.can't dial in SX600r

Going crazy her.Stock helix red spring at 80.3.6 in both holes in primary..over rev.Went to 4.5 both holes..under rev.Drilled out outer to 4g and over rev to 8600-8700.So again put 4.5 outer again and because maybe warmer day..she is at 8000 wot.How can the rpm change from 8600ish to 8000ish with only a .5 g drop in tip. Maybe have to lighten inner rivet some.Originally turk said 3.6 both..but over reved.So now I will lighten both 4.5 rivets this time..can't believe the difference in drop by .5g itself.Tried 70 and back to 80 wrap to.
There is a fine line there somewhere..but how fine do I have to have it?? :o|
 
want it closer then 8000 wot.I guess 8600 wasn't bad prior.I have one more chance to get it close..will look at it tonight.
Stock is 2.4 inner and 3.6 outer.I am geared down 1 tooth on top also with 1.25 track.
tried 3.6 in both holes..stilled over reved.
So now thinking 3.6 inner and 4.5 outer.
 
Man you should spend less time farting with your clutch and more time riding. Every time that you get it set up good you change it? Leave it alone and go put some miles on it. If you're not racing it, it really doesn't matter. Different temps, barometric pressure, snow conditions, weight sled is carrying,etc,etc,etc all affect your rpms. Clutch the sled for the conditions that you will ride in 90% of the time and live with the other 10% no matter how crappy it is for that 10% or you are going to drive yourself insane. Not trying to be a tool, just trying to help.
Where are you getting your overrev? If it is off the line...... your probably not getting traction. Are you getting a long pull in (2000'+) to top out and getting an overev? To get your rpm right on top you need a loooonnnggg pull at top out speed. Do not adjust rpm with secondary spring tension. It should be just enough to hang onto the belt without slipping (temp test) and give you a good backshift and should only be adjusted for snow conditions. Wet snow= more wrap due to increased load feedback through the secondary (more traction) and light fluffy snow or icy hardpack = less traction and less wrap needed.
Go back to your original setup do some 0-70mph blasts, 25mph-70 blasts, couple of top enders and some twisties with lots of brake and throttle action. Pay close attention to the tach and shift characteristics as well as the testing conditions THEN analyze your results. You will learn alot more about how all the variables come into play.

I have the same sled, same track and same gearing. Go to the Tech page and find Turk's aggresive trail clutch set up (both primary and secondary setups). It will hit 8,600 out of the hole for just a second and then quickly back off to 8450'ish and pull 8400-8500 all the way through top end.
I've had the set up in my sled for at least 5 years and it works great for just about any riding condition or terrain.
 
I know I am tuning in mild weather and that's not ideal..but just for a few last rides want it close.Switched 4.5 inner with 3.6 and kept 4.5 outer.Now it perked up the sled.Good acceleration from launch.It is close for now..wot is at 8400 and got to 142 kph in 2 above Celcius.Snow is getting sugary now with warmer temps.Got my SRX close to at 8400 wot today..So that's gonna be it till next season.Mind you I will re build the motors and will have to get set up all over again..What the hell.there is more to riding and that is wrenching alot to get her close..lol.What else I got to do anyways.
