I want to extend my 121 to 136 m 10...team fast web site does not show such product.my Question is extension available. and if so will it throw off the geomatry of the skid.will it work properly. Great website thanks yamaholics
Tracks usa makes them if you want to run the small wheels in the rear. CB Performance made me a set 144 tiped up for 8in rear wheels. The geometry of an M10 is screwed up in stock form as it is, I never found my 136 version I ran to have any problems with track tension with either the small wheels or the offset axle I ran the second year. I found Fast to be not so wonderful to talk to about extensions on their skids or references to larger wheels. They told me that they don't recomend it. They were also trying to sell me a set of 136 rails instead.
When you do this, make sure you do not adjust your track to yamahas sag spec for the track tension. The geometry of an M10 is messed up, it tightens the track as it is compressed so if you adjust the sag to an inch hanging, it is banjo tight when you sit on it and even tighter hitting a bump.
you will love the extra traction, as far as ride, I saw no difference in ride between short and long sled, its only 7.5 inches longer, but the extra track on the ground does hook and float better. If you havent bought a track yet, I would go right to 144, not sure if I would bother with tipping up rails again though. I am not changing mine back but the next one I think will be flat railed.

Thanks for the hot tips . Iwill look into tracks usa.. question why 8" wheels . and why would you go to 144 . that means new trailer ..when I do go 136 do I have to change gearing
yes on the trailer, I had to go to a 12 foot. Well, why longer, if you were going to go to the doctor to have something made longer and others around you had 136 inches, wouldn't you want 144 inches???????
The larger the wheels, the faster the skid. M10 skids run tiny rear wheels and eat up some speed.

Fast used to make an extension kit for the metric M10 121-136. You can find one every once in awhile on Ebay. Nothing changes going from 121 to 136 whether you go with longer rails or the extension. The longer rails keeps everything in the same place except you have an extra 7" or so on the back end.
If you're looking for extensions keep in mind that there is a metric version, an earlier version, and the 2001 and newer version. The metric was an upgrade on the earlier; the 2001 and newer is totally different.

appreciate the good input.8" wheels are in.144" ?.20002 m10 ohlin suspension.tracks usa has best pricing..thinking of going ice atack track 125.. I know ther not like real studs.but I like drifting in corners.when doo.able ...what do you think aout durrability on premolded stud and being1.25" in stock viper ......more work .or go 136 by1" with real studs
I use a ice attack track and it works good, about the same hook up as 2 studs down the middle. You can stop and start on ice but break it loose with ease. If you like drifting, this is the track for that. It is also a single belt track and is very light
144 m10 suspension come with a live rear axle that is hooked on a pivot attached to the rear arm to keep tension more exact. They use 8in rear wheels

Should have made this point in my last post, but unless you're running deep snow you really don't need to go beyond 136. You get the good trail ride with the 136, corners very well, don't have to worry about a longer trailer, etc. I run a lot of off trail and the 136 works very well; sure there's times where I ride where 144 or 151 would be great, but don't need it enough to make the trade-off.
