I would like to know how many turns out from a seated position do I turn on the neddle jets for my 600 tripple? I have cleaned out the carbs really good with carb cleaner and blew out the jurnals with my aircompressor. I re-installed the carbs on the sled and fired it up. I get great idle but when I mash the gas it boggs and backfires. The engine has no load on it, I pulled the clutch. When I feather the throttle I can acheive some rpms but as soon as I mash it it boggs. Any help would be appreciated!

My buddy has this sled so I am working from memory......I thought it was 2 turns out from fully seated. Maybe someone else can chime in. Also check your chokes. I would NOT recommend running without the clutch on-too easy to over-rev the machine.
Check the tech section, it should have what you're looking for.

my 2001 600 doesn't have a bog.But it has a mean lean idle.Just can't seem to settle it down.I have the screws turned out a touch more then stock..not enough I guess. After riding and come to a stop..it idles at about 2500.Takes a while to evenm drop down..we just use the choke to drop it.If I set the idle screw so it idles lower faster..then when I start it cold..it is idling at around 1000 roughly..can't seem to get it in between somehow.Rebuild coming this summer so I will worry about it next riding season.
