I just picked it up yesterday, it seems kinda slugish but its warm its only a 600, it has a new crank and topend.. anything i need to know about these? Its a 98.. And whats the best bang for the buck bolt ons for these, i had a mod mountainmax and i was wondering if my reed spacers and hauck boost bottle would work on it?. And to make it a 700 is it just jugs pistons and carbs? thanks

that 600 if it is setup right should run pretty competitivly with a 700. don't use the reed spacers or the boost bottle. Keep it stock and just play with the clutching

Use the reed spacers. I had em on both my 600 srx,s back in the day. They work well on any yammie triple.
8bu-00 weights with 2.4 gram rivet in tip
add 3 engagement shims & use stock primary springs
45/39 helix with silver at 60 wrap.
hang on.

I have always been told the reed spacers don't do anything but if Turk thinks they work I may have to try a set.

Great sled!! We just got back from a radar run with ours.. 128mph in 2000ft.. They may be little 600's but you can sure make them fly!! Have fun..

spacers were specifically to compensate for a bad design on the nonPV tripples that wasn't copied on the SRX. spacers might help all sleds to some extent, I don't know.

stock clutching is absolutely horible on the 600s. to make your 6 a 7, you need pistons, jugs, valves, CDI, jetting and clutching.

Turk did you do any work with mod SRX's? Wondering how the reed spacers work on a full mod SRX. I have been told to go the opposite way by a few Yamaha racers.. There reasoning is crankcase volume increases and they feel the pumping effieciency of the engine decreases.

We had a very very good local engine builder that tested em on a flow bench & any triple & most twins of any make or model saw an improvement with spacers; regardless of mods.
