Man a lot of Cats and doos around today.Saw 2 other yammies ..an SRX and a SXR..plus us two.
But the guys were friendly in the bar.
We didn't drink but chowed down.Went back out heading home and meet up with an F8 and Polaris 600.No one was really going fast..just cruising. We stopped to do some hill climbing and them 2 guys came around the corner and we trailed behind like nice little Yami boys.I started to open the SRX up a bit and got beside the F8.A straight away was coming up so it was time to pin it.The F8 decided that to.I was in the lead all the way.I took my hand off the throttle before the bend in the River and then the F8 goes by me about 3 seconds later .He thought he was going to pass me and leave me behind.I did not entice him into a little race..it just happened spur of the moment. And it was a mild day today..2 degrees above Celcius.SRX was a little sluggish because of the mild and foggy weather..but still runs quick.Had the speedo at only 106 today at least..wish it was cooler and a little snappier..but hey it is what it is....happy enough for now.

hey Jeff..you interested in opening up a Yamaha dealership out this way.It would be cool and buyers could do test runs out here to.St.Agathe Baudry Construction has had the Cat Dealership out of their building since I can remember.Enns Bros on Mcgillivray/Perimeter has the Doos.We need a Yamaha dealership in between.Food for thought.

People don't like the 4-stroke sleds. Have you driven a crossfire 8 lately, wow. When I have a spare 9k, i'll be riding one. unfortunately, pretty diehard Yammer thumper, but i can't deny how great those stupid Artic Cat's handle and go fast.

and then the Cats have breakdowns earlier to.They may be fast..but only so long and then kaboom!!!!Are there many Cats with motors that lasy as long as Yami motors.A lot of high mileage Yami's still out there..what about Cats.are they on there 2nd or third rebuild. My coiusin had a Firecat 1000.He had major headaches with it..one was the clutches kept blowing to pieces on him.He quite riding now.And my stepson has a few friends that ride doos,3 of them this season have parked their sleds because of breakdowns..some are just over a year old. Engine blowups, chaincase explosions and jackshaft failures. They are pissed off apparently.

I really don't care brand people choose to ride. I do care that they do ride and how they ride. I ride with cats, doo's and poo's all the time. As long as we are all having a good time, it's all good. ;)!

This is from a TY member here in Canada,I won't say name or location unless he comes on to say.But this is what I found out thru him about the competition sleds..lol

I Went to a poker rally yesterday with 2- crossfire 1000"s and a custom rotax 670. Those crossfires were able to get me on the top end running through 1-1/2 feet of snow in the fields. I could do about 80 throught the deep stuf and they could pull about 85-90. First the diamond drive went on the one crossfire, then the balancer broke two bolts and almost flew off the crank of the rotax, then the can split on the other crossfire and started the sled on fire! You should have seen how hot that exhaust got when you wound that sled out for a long stretch. The srx was the only sled left running...lol. I reminded those guys about that for the rest of the night, told them thats what happens when you try to stay ahead of the srx... your sleds just won't hold up!

Bring on those Cats... I'll run my stock Attak with snow trackers and teach them a lesson!!! And if that won"t work I'll take them to the lake with my SRX and WILL teach them a lesson. By the way MY Attak has 9200 miles and still not wanting to trade up with anything Yamaha out next year. Who needs power steering for 15 g's

correct assesment on the other brands if u run them wide open all day they are sure 2 blow up, people can say what they want about the others yami is # in 5 areas that matter and when the dust settles we can sell ours for a good dollar after 10 years of riding them and whats happened 2 the others IN THE BONE YARD, DEAD so don,t get fooled buy the light weight they go faster ect. the odds are allways against us but we still come out on top when its all said a done. AL

oh and one more thing yamis set speed world speed records just 2 mention a few in case the rest don,t understand . salt flats speed run on a specialy built apex run 201 mph. this year vmax4800 pro stock yami run a 123 mph in 1000ft on ice at the world series randy brewers sled this sled dynos @ 234 hp, last year in ontario on ice 2000 ft speed run srx stock 700 123 mph. set the record not yet beaten buy any of the others. yami has the first stock production sled 2 break the 160 mph in 660 on ice and this sled is allso the most hp any 2 stroke has ever been dynoed @ dynotec this year 562 hp and is capable of 600 hp may i state with out blowing up. now can any of the other 3 brands make these clams and back it up answer is NO

one of these sleds is posted on the front page of vmax4.com check it out, this kid spent 7 years building this sled 2 be what the other 3 brands said could never be done and now they have 2 eat crow, lol

Alot of fast yammis out there but I have to correct extremely on the 2000 ft stock srx speeds! Last season yammi held record at 128mph in 2000 ft run. Unfortunately a 2003 firecat upped that to 128.6mph this season..
