I am looking to purchase some new clutch weights. How easy is it to remove existing rivets and put in different ones? Do some people use bolts and nuts instead of rivets in the first hole?

You can use bolts and nuts in both holes. Just have to make sure they sit below top of weight that rides on the roller. Drilling out rivets is a pain in the arse!

Well good luck in trying too add a nut on there not much room left.Remove rivit,s and tap the hole,s then add your bolt,s but you my have too trim the washer too for clearance if not it will hit it.Pauljones said:I am looking to purchase some new clutch weights. you don't have to drill the rivets. All you have to do is grind the rivets and punch them out. As for the bolts the only problem with then is that they actualy rub against the plastic washers where the rollers are on the spider.

grinding can be tricky.I was trying that the other day and touched the actual weight slightly..so went back to the drill press..no to bad.
