Well I did it again. Blew the same piston (clutch side). This time major damage. Looks like I am going to need a new cyclinder, pistion etc. There appears to be a hose on the bottom of the crank that looks like it is there for pressure equalization. Where it attaches to the bottom of the crank it broke off. I don't know if I can have it welded back on or not. Anyhow I am learning the hardway. What I need to know is how you remove the clutch. I have the engine ready to come out so I can split the crank, but I don't know if I need a clutch puller for this type of clutch or not. My friend has one for a Ski-Doo but he doesn't think it will work on a Yamaha. He said some clutches will come off with a rubber hammer. I looked at a couple of places for clutch tools but they only went up to 2001. I am hoping the crank shaft is okay. It turns really easy, but with the bottom of the cyclinder gone that is a lot of aluminum in the crank. I don't know the cause, but I read some guys have had a lot of trouble with Kimpex pistons. The connecting rod pulled right out of the piston and broke the bottom of off one of the sides of the cyclinder.
