I have a 98 SRX 700, and was wondering if belly pans, bumpers etc. from other years will work. Got hit this weekend and I need a new RH side belly pan.....thinking of changing all panels to blue.

I could be wrong, but I think they're all the same.
only thing that really changed is colors and the 98 and 99 had a different headlight

What was different about the headlight? And do they interchange?
They went from a single(lower pic) bulb to a dual bulb(top pic) headlight. I believe what it is different is the upper pod that mounts on the hood,so I think the hood is the same.

No the wiring to power the 2 bulbs on your 98 wont work. You can run 1 of the 2 bulbs though...

So theres no way to make it work.....besides a different wiring harness?

i believe you would also have to change the stator due to the higher output bulbs huge diff in the lighting with the duals.

dual headlight
2000 SRX was the first year for the dual headlight as mention above.

The problem is the older style stator doesnt put out as much wattage as the newer system. Two bulbs require the extra watts, unless you never plan on using your heatted grips and thumbwarmersShafner79 said:So theres no way to make it work.....besides a different wiring harness?

You can use the newer hood, you would have to swap out the upper pod and use your single bulb headlight pod.

2000 cdi is its own plug into the wiring harness, it is duall bulb and has the better stator and such but wiring plug changes for 01, 02 to accomodate for the dual controls for the handlebar/thumb warmers. 2000 still has single controll for both the handles and thumb warmers. not sure but think the 02 is the only one with dcs, dont think 01 has it, if thats the case cdi may be diffrent but wiring is still the same.
hoods are the same, just the upper cowl/guage pod is diffrent. on the bottom side of the hood up by headlight the years are stamped into mine. pretty sure when switching guage pods they use diffrent windshields too cause i had an old one off an sx that would not fit mine.

So do I just splice in another plug to my exsisting harness? Are the 35w bulbs bright enough?
