I'm thinkin about ditchin/sellin (PM if interested) the Ice Attak and going back to a studded track. I saw that Camoplast offers a full block track w/ 3/4" lugs and 144 pre-drilled holes. I was thinkin either .875" or 1" Megabites. What do you think? Would it be enough traction for the mighty SRX. The main reason I want to switch is for hook-up on glare ice at radar runs/drags, the Ice Attak is an awesome trail track, but it just doesn't compare to real studs on ice.

Actually, the lugs on the track you are thinking of are 0.725". The model number is 9791T. It's the only trail track I ever run.

If you keep the stock 9T drivers, you can run 1.080" trail studs in that track. I would run 96 studs in your setup.

If you're drag racing on ice, run 96 or 144 1.2" chisels on that same track. Trail studs don't hook on ice......no matter how many you have, and you end up just overshifting your clutches.

Also, this track has excellent traction on the hard pack since it's a full bar. There's alot of lug biting into the ground and it'll hook better than most 1" on the hard stuff........but it's pretty terrible in the deep stuff.

I also noticed in your signature that you are running long travel suspension. Radar and long travel don't go hand in hand.

and remember (netefrog)you cant run trail stock class with chisels in your track and i told you to ditch the long travel lol but your a heavier guy to so you may need it

Alright Valin, you talked me into it, I'm gonna pull the trigger on a new track. I hear what you're saying about the studs but I'm gonna go with 144 Megabites 2-4-2-4- down the middle and see how that goes. I wanna be legal in the trail stock class.

mabey if it was 1/4 mile ah netefrog lol ..

Yeah lol. Wouldn't mind winding it out over 2000 ft just to see what she'll do. You got her to do 96MPH in the 1/4 mile with the Ice Attak and long travel skid so I bet she'd do about 106-107 in 2000ft. Deffinantly not gonna break any records as is, but that will soon change. ;)! ;)! ;)!

I run that track as well, and am happy with it, like Valin says it doesn't like snow, which is fine because the rest of the sled gets mad at anything deeper than 5" I run 1.250 chisels and it hooks up great.
