I just pulled apart a used clutch I bought and found a shim behind the primary clutch spring.
It was located between the spider and the spring and is made of aluminum...it seemed to fit in there fine and came out easy.
Any idea if this is supposed to be in there?
My other one does not have it there.
Any pros or cons to this shim?

shims are used to increase engagement speeds........(rpm)

This was removed from a stock yamaha clutch with the ywy spring and 8DN - 20 weights.
I'll have to fool around with it to see how it works with and without.
thanks.

If it is 3/8 in thick it wont work with a stock LONG spring [will not let the clutch fully shift out........if it is very thin it is for higher engagement.
