can anyone help me out wirh the distance between crank trigger and flywheel on a 98 srx.....whoever had the motor last oblonged the holes....trying to figure out a low end bog i got thanks!

They may have swapped to the newer stator.

PM mrviper700 or dieseldoc they have the measurements.

Which way was the pick up slotted? Most guys will slot the holes to allow the pick up to be moved to advance the timing..

thanks for the post guys.....trying to get a low end bog out...thinking may be wiring or stator?? or possibly a ground.....tried diff clutching and carbs....still the same bog....hope its just an easy fix....MONEY PIT

Is it running on all three cylinders when its idleing? Mine had the same low end bog and I tried everything to get rid of it. It turned out that it was not hitting on one cylinder at idle but would pick it up if you revved it up past 5000 rpm. It wasn't getting fuel on that cylinder at idle because it was sucking air between the crankcase halves and didn't have enough vacuum to pull the fuel through the carbs. It had me pulling my hair out for quite awhile, probably still be looking if I hadn't called someone more knowlegeable than me.

.............

yep running on all 3, runs fine at idle all the way up, if you do a 5 mph rolling start it wont bog.....

Mine did the same thing last last fall, you said you tried the carbs did you turn the fuel adjustment screws out more or even try bigger pilot jets and also did you try lightining up the clutch weights a bit in the heel, you could be loading the engine too much

................

have come to the conclusion its something electrical...as the motor gets hotter it misses more, stubles , pops, even start to skip on topend....gonna try a new stator and harness next weekend
