I found this on Ebay a while back and I see it's back on there now. It's listed as a Viper S but it's missing one key piece the Ohlins front shocks as you can see from the pics plus unless I'm mistaken they had silver radius rods and trailing arms, not that they couldn't have been painted black it just makes this look like a black Viper with an S hood and seat.

It looks like a Viper S, has the 04 pleated seat and the factory running board grips which is what they came with, but I believe they also came stock with the red bellypan protector and of course the Ohlins shocks, and yes they had silver trailing arms.

Viper S

Wrong skis. The Viper S had saddle less deep keel skis.

I don't see anything suspicious there, I'm betting it's the real deal. Though it's probably been crashed or modded for the changes seen (different arms, skis, etc.).

Pretty low miles for that sled too. Let the bidding wars begin!

Its mostly a viper s. My best guess is they got in a front end crash or somthing. Probably will make a nice sled depending on what you pay for it.

I saw this listed on several sites before too. What they were asking, over $3000, I'd not even consider. The S I saw in So. Me. with 8600 mi., had all the goodies, plus reverse and mirrors. Can be had for less than this one and looks great! Why not just buy a clean 02-03 Viper, instead of parted together 04?

I sent a message to the guy about the sled, specifically the shocks and I got a reply saying this was the way he bought it a couple of years ago.You guys brought up good points about the front end and this was very likely a crash victim pieced back together.Shame too because like TopGunnSrx says part of the thing that makes the S special is the Ohlins.

No doubt it would still be nice but i would double check for front end damage. Besides isn't the perk to the "S" the nice shock package and the couple other fancies you get.

Crappy part is, the rear suspension shocks were cheap non-rebuildables!!

My guess is the same, repaired frond end!

no red skid plate like the viper s came with and that is the wrong seat, looks like an 02 red er seat with maybe extra foam? i'm going to guess it has seen some damage and all the wrong parts are what was found used to put on it.

Good call Time bomb, very possible.

But maybe the skid plate was smucked up in some sort of frontal collision also. Who knows.

But the miles are low, which is a major, major bonus. I'm just not a fan of the black and red, which this one is as I recall.

I'd just look for a different one (Yammi blue baby!) and mod that sucker out if I was looking for one. But finding these things with that low mileage is tough!

That's right-- you'd be better off with 02 or 03 rear shocks.
Stock shocks a re fine and actually ride pretty good 90% of the time. They do fade on heavy washboard though.
