I am installing a 144 cat rear suspension in a 2000 SRX. It currently has the stock skid with 136 extensions and moved back 4 inches 1.5 inch lug.Does not transfer very well and eats hyfax if you go too fast, rail tips too far from drive shaft which cause track to whip. The cat suspension should cure these problems. My friend just bought a 2003 900 1M . He thinks he will walk all over me. The 900 is rated at 150 hp and the SRX is 145(right/wrong?). I think they should be fairly close cross country. Any thoughts?
Buddy of mine had a 2000 srx that we put a 159 with a 151 cat skid in. I worked pretty well, but halfway through the season he bought a new 900 1M (03 or an 04) and didn't seem to regret the change one bit. His dad rode the srx for a couple years and then bought a 900 1M as well so....
first thought coming to mind: "weight advantage" he has over you, srx being quite a bit heavier, so you may need to :
1.)lighten your sled up
2.) add power to engine to carry extra weight
3.) tie a steel anchor to his tunnel when hes not looking
