Looking for some Help!!!!
I ran my SSX 600 the last 2 weekends grass drag racing and I am looking for some different set ups to try and some advise. Last weekend I wont even talk about it was BAD but didnt have much time to get it ready with work and being on the road. So here is what I have right know in the sled for gearing and clutching. I have 18T and 40T in the gear case and I have a red spring in the secondary wrapped 60 degrees and a set of heelclicker clutch weights 40/10 in the primary and my clutch engagement is around 4000 rpms. And here are my times this weekend in 300ft.
Race 1 ET 6.63 @ 57.50mph with a 60 ft time of 3.08 I was asleep at the light first time with drag racing type lighting.
Race 2 ET 5.29 @65.54mph with a 60ft time of 2.30secs. much better but still got beat by a new skidoo with fuel injection.
This sled has a 600 twin stock I am thinking of doing some engine work like porting to this sled just so I can compete with the newer sleds. My other option is to convert this sled to the 500cc class maybe the 600 twin just isnt going to compete with the new sleds that run in this class. If I turn it into a 500cc engine I will bring the NYTRO out to put in the 600cc class and see what happens. I have all summer to get it right seeing the next local race isnt for 4 months around here.
Thanks ahead of time for your opinions

I am all ears too. I have stock engine too in my project XTC. But heres sleds setup.
Winter it was faster than Poo Rush at 660ft, at the start sleds were even and after 50meters my old yammie began to pull away. I had to admit that felt pretty good. We took few races and every time same result.
I have Yammiegod setup in my sled but I havent tested sled at grass.
Primary:
Blue-Brown-Blue, long cap and spring.
8 ca 3.6g and tip 3.6g
engagement 4500rpm, max rev 7800
Secondary:
Green spring
50-40 helix
3-3 preload
23-39 gearing
8 tooth drivers
For a little twin sled is really good because it can keep up for while with IKEs warrior. Before warrior pulls away its rider will get nervous...

u have a much better chance 2 dominate with the nytro than u do with 600, the old 600 hundreds only make 110 hp verses 130 for the new 600s these days ,my 2 cents the nytros are rated 130 and most will dyno 134 to 138, they nytro is a torque moster and can compete withg the 1000 up 2 900 ft if set up right. my 2 cents
i would agree with you so I think that I am going to make the 600 twin into a 500 twin and bring the Nytro out and run it in the 600 class this fall. I do believe that if I put some 500 cylinders on my twin I can compete in the 0-500cc class with it and be competitive.
