Anyone know what a stock srx might run on asphalt. I have a 15x121 track and full wieght sled that will go on a diet. Also what gears and clutch kits are good?
10.70'-80's are definitely doable. I always try the trail set ups first for a baseline then start changing stuff, youd be suprised at how well just removing the stock airbox and running same winter jetting will work to get you out racing. Then, it takes lots of notes/staple time slips to page with notes from each run, watch rpm and record it to read after you get home, your mind will be more open and you can make the next logical change to your benefit. change only 1 clutch item at a time and youll see the times come down.
Here is a base setup to run. 8bu-00 weights,g/w/g spring, 4.5 rivets in tip, .8 alum in inner hole, stock 15.6mm rollers. straight 47 stock helix with green secondary at 80. 23/39 gearing, this setup was a 10.79@117mph first night out, keep in mind I have been on the tar before and had good idea where to set up the skid. Asphalt has ALOT to do with suspension, so work on the 60ft time, every 1/10th you take off the 60ft, is 2/10ths off your ET!
89a-10 weights are good ones for it too.

THE LAST COUPLE SENTENCES IN THE POST ABOVE ARE THE KEY TO ASPHALT RACING. ALSO WHEN YOU POSTED YOU WILL PUT THIS SLED ON A DIET. 3:16 (yammie tony)

There was an SRX at my local strip two weekends ago that was running 11.0's. All I could tell from a quick glance was aftermarket pipes.

WE HAVE A GUY RUNNING A 98 SRX AT NYIRP. GRANTED HE HAS BEEN RACING THIS SLED AFEW YEARS NOW WHICH IS HUGE WHEN YOUR TAR RACING, I HAVE SEEN HIM GO 10.48 @ 121. FARR AS I CAN TELL SLED STILL LOOKS TO BE PRETTY STOCK. 3:16 (yammie tony)
