im putting a 4" riser on my srx and had 2 questions

1: will i need a throttle extension with that much lift

2: i heard of people running there throttle trough the air box to gain length instead of a throttle extionsion. does this work, has anyone done this?

not only will you need a longer throttle cable, but an oil pump cable as well. and your pushing maximum on the brake line, but by repositioning the line, you may make it. DO NOT buy cable extensions(powermadd or rsi), you will regret it. buy longer oem cables instead for the mtn sleds. both cables can be had for around the same price as extensions that dont work.

i put 8" rsi risers on my viper and i had to extend the wires, brake line, throttle and oil pump cables, and i had to take the parking brake off because it was also to short. the splicing of the wires were a pain in the ***

allright so it sounds like i will def. need a throttle cable and a oil line. and maybe a brake line. any others? bueler?

i would check on ebay. i got mine off there for $25 and free shipping. there originally i think around $65

Go with Mt Viper cables, then you can go a lot higher and have more flexibility. Mt Vipers are being parted out all the time, it shouldn't be too tough to find replacements for all the handlebar cables.

just for clarity, 03 mtn viper are the cables you will need. and only the 03's will be compatatable, in my experience.
