I decided to inspect my engine earlier tonight so pulled the PV and spark plug out of the PTO cylinder and shined a light in the PV port and had a look down the spark plug hole and WOW almost looks like new. The arrow on the exhaust side of the piston is still clearly visible, excellent wash, no thick carbon build-ups, and the rings are shiney new. All this with 12,500kms on the sled. Just another testament to Yamaha build quality and fit and finish.

I know mine still checks out great with oveer 9k miles on it. exactly the reason that I think replacing rings just because is silly if you have don e a good job maintaining it and treating it right! congrats on the miles and condition
