I have to replace my stock track in my 02 SRX and am thinking about going with the 1 1/4 Ripsaw with no studs. I want the best hook up possible in the trails and don't want to carry the extra weight of studs. I have been hearing things like go with a Predator or Hacksaw, only go with clipped every third, I
really am looking for the best all around hookup in the tight twisties? Thanks for any replies in advance.
Oh yeah, the sled is already clutched, has transfer rods, and a bender can.
Oh, and the Bender can for sure makes a little more power, I watched it on the dyno myself. My sled runs really strong so I am just looking to get a little more out of it. What about the head gasket mod and V-force reeds? Thanks.

I have the 1.25 predator and it hooks up awesome for snow drags on my 2000 700 SRX

I have a 1 inch predator, but after a few seasons have ripped some of the ribs near the edge of track.Probably from low snow conditions and spinning out hitting hard stuff.I heard the Hacksaw is supposed to be good.I would go with a fully clipped track the next time. The 1 inch is a good speed track,1.25 will lose you some speed and you'll have to gear for it.I have a 1.25 ripsaw on the 600,it has lost a lot of rubber tips of the lugs, very poor track in my opinion..wouldn't buy a ripsaw again. For good hookup you'll need studs, otherwise you'll spin no matter what. When I first got the SRX,guy had 144 studs on the track and I basically could catwalk that sled.It was unbelievable. Then I went to 1 inch Predator without studs, nothing but spinning out, probably why the track is getting torn up.
I ran 1.25 ripsaw on my srx last year....absolutely ripped...If your looking for money well spent i highly recommend it. Very little slip with it. Took it to the drags and hooked up all day long until the runs started getting iced up. studs would of helped then. This thing is an overall great track. I never had any lugs rip out of it, but probably only put 750 miles on it

i had a rip saw on my 02 SRX it was really nice and hooked up great. You will probably have to remove the heat exchanger protectors for the 1.25 clearance otherwise go to 8 tooth drivers and you can keep the protectors that way and still run studs.
Like above people said you will lose about 5MPH on top end. I have the stock track turned in the opposite direction on my 01. it hooks up better but your braking distance will be greater. i have 192 studs in the track so im not concerned with that

If your looking for hookup,,,,, you need studs........ At least 144 with 140hp sled..... For trail and top speed,, a curve-predator will be your best bet..... For a little more durability the hacksaw cant be beat.... If you dont run studs,,,, you will tare lugs in half,,, unless you baby it....... The extra weight in studs will still blow away a non-studded in 2000ft..... Need to add you want a fully clipped track.........

My srx hooks up really well with the 144x2" that is under it now. Little lacking in the top speed department, but.....
That's probably not the direction you are looking go

I am heavy on the throttle always and that is why almost all the lugs are broken on my 1.25 ripsaw on my 600.Thinking of taking a utility knife and slicing all the lugs to an even inch now.Is a Hacksaw much more durable as stated? I would look into getting one for the SRX then and still stud it.
What do you guys think about studding the pre-studed ice attak and ice ripper tracks? Obviousley a stud like the BRP Phantom stud would have to be used because theyre single ply, but has anyone done it

1 1/4 hooks up good but if you drag much you will want studs and probably would want to stay with 1" to keep your top end. if you decide to run the 1 1/4 without studs you will not have any clearance issues, if you stud then its a little close. i ran mine once like that, it was close but still cleared and that lasted until i had a stud start to pull through, it was only tore on 3 sides of the stud so it kinda flopped around a little and it tore a hole in my front cooler. either direction you go get fully clipped, coasts easier, not as much drag so you wont jump the track as easy, gets more speed if you are racing, and your sliders will last longer also. all of this is evan more noticeable in marginal snow conditions.

I have a 1" Kimpex aggressor that is probably one of the heaviest tracks around. Beafy full length lugs and 144 1.075" diggers. The extra material seems to help with durability because it's been on three sleds and is over 10 years old and still in great shape. Top speed suffered a bit but I can still hit 104 on GPS. The beafy lugs seem to work better than some guys that are running 244 or chisles when the launch area gets rutted. When the ice is fresh forget it but when things get rutted I can launch with most.
Okay guys, I think I am convinced to go with a 1inch track and 144 studs, now the question is what 1inch track do I go with for overall performance with the studs? I do about 80% aggresive trailriding and 20% racing and messing around on the lakes, so for sure want something that is going to hook hard in the hard pack, not too worried about real ice because we never really race on true ice, mostly real hardpacked snow. Let me know which 1" would best fit me. Thanks guys, Dam I love this site.....

Looks sweet, what is it?
Durasport 725 9791T track .725 fullblock, load it up with 144 studs and you should be golden

Looked it up, looks like a really sweet track, but what about going with the 1000 ? Don't you think that this might be a little better in the snowpacked trails for real aggresive trail riding? Let me know what you think.

Thats what I was thinking, I do like the looks of the 1000 though. I was thinking of going with that and studding it up with either 96 or 144.

really like the way my rip saws have hooked up but i dont think they last as good as others out there. used a shotgun once, it didnt hook quite as good but it was decent and the outside edges were alot heavier duty than the ripsaw. it lasted pretty good on my srx i had. pretty sure the shotgun was a kimpex track if i remember right.

Hey, I'm finishing up my project sled this fall I endded up going W/ a 1" hacksaw W/ 144 woody gold digger's at 1.175. I think this is perfect for MI since our trails are mainly icy and hard pack. I had a 1.25 ripsaw no studs on previous and I was able to spin that alot and I did tear alot of lugs. You definitaly need studs in MI in my opinion.
