recently bought an 02 viper and builing it up so i can take some nasty trails and not kill the sled, throwing a pro x skid under it, stiffer springs up front, and i need a new handle bar set up, i'm either going with a firecat bar or rsi bar, but regardless i'm using rsi handle bar heater elements, i see that they don't sell a plug in and go element so my question is, can i just splice the wires together and hope i got it right? my next option was i have an apex mtn riser laying around and was going to get some apex bars but again the heater plugs are different so could i splice these together and have less if a headache? any information and pictures would be much help, basically i'm looking to go with a pivot riser and flat bar set up with hooks
I did the adjustable riser with carbon rsi straight bars. I never got the heaters to work well. Not sure if i wired them wrong, the bars dont hold heat, or if they are up so much higher i doesnt matter... i am cutting an inch off this year and getting new heaters.... Well see. Had to do the straight bars with the screw in ends because the throttle block on the srx wouldnt split and i couldnt get it around the bars. Not sure how the viper is. Also got the riser adapter from the guy in northern Michigan. Its a nice billet piece.

thanks srx, how tall is your riser and did you have to do any extentions?
I think i did the 6 inch adjustable. I did throttle and brake extensions. I was able to save the wiring.... I did the steel braided lines. The guys at Jazz Motorsports got everything for me. Have you figured out what you are doing yet? I just picked up a sxr 500.. needs skid, clutches and chain case. Love the projects.

ya i'm gonna go with a 6 in riser, rsi adapter and 6 or 7 in riser, firecat bars and everything from rsi because they sold out of the race bend bars wtf haha. i also have an apex mtx riser laying around that if i can find a super cheap set of apex bars i'll go that route but i'm diggin the firecat bar set up way more. i hate being at college not being home to get this build complete haha. i can't wait for break to come!
