Viper parts for SRX???

I wrecked my 98 SRX 700 last season. I posted a want ad for parts and I have actually found a friend who has an 02 Viper he will sell me minust the skid, track and motor. I have some questions.....

Do many of the parts interchange??

--Belly pans and skid plates?

--Trailing arms

--I plan on swapping seats and tanks....do I need to also swap bumpers?

Would it be logical/possible to keep the viper in tact and put my SRX motor in it???

Any thoughts and comments would be great.

the viper has differnt tr. arms,radius rods,shocks in the front, the rear skid will interchange,but the srx has short travel shocks. you could just bolt in a set of viper shocks.

motor will bolt up but thats about the easiest part of it, the cylinders are differnt, the water rail is differnt, the location on the cases is differnt for the 175 watt stator of the srx and the viper uses a 300watt stator for the dual bulb headlight.

the plastic bellypan and such can be swapped from chassis to chassis, but viper parts wont interchange with srx you have to use all of one or the other.

youll need alot of stuff to convert,would be easier in my opinion to just sell the srx stuff and but the needed viper parts.

WYNViper on this site put an srx engine into a viper chassis. You could always ask him what it was like to do the switch.

I would find a donor SRX to make 1 good sled.

Using any other sled, you will just run into problems and end up costing much more in parts to make it work

Finding another sled to ride in perfect condition is an alternative, You will put up front more cash at first but will re-coupe all or most of it when you part out your crashed sled.

I bet this guy willing take an offer for $1,800 the 98's are a dime a dozen and luckily for you, they dont hold their used value and demand as the 01-02 SRX's

Hello everyone, I just completed my registation and wanted to say that I love all the info on this site. Ive always been a yamaha fan and I have a built 01 660 raptor that I have owned since new. And I just bought the 98 srx 700 that is listed above last sat and I love it with no regrets. I traveled out from ohio to buy it.
