Cleaned the carbs on the sled. Started up fine but seems to be idling high. Should I wait till it is fully warmed up or the temps cool off a bit before fine tuning? I counted the turns on the air/idle screws and put back exactly where they were-puzzled. I did change the exhaust back to stock just to quiet it down, maybe that has something to do with it?

Got to wait till it gets cold to get the fine tunning. When you say high, how high. Runnaway idle high or just above normal? Probably just need to adjust idle but wont do ya much good till the weather turns for good. CCC

The carbs should have different settings and jets for the pipes and stock muffler. You will need to find out what the stock specs are.

The engine should be at operating temperature when making adjustments. It should be adjusted at the outside temp it will be when you are riding the sled.

Did you mess with the slide hight screws? If so that is probably your problem. There is no "turn in untill bottom, back out same #" that works well for them. If you take them out you should start over from scratch with adjustment.

Good call on the pipes, missed that. Find your stock jetting specs. You can find them here in the tech section and compare to what you have in your carbs now. CCC

The exhaust that was on was a homemade pipe. It was cut in half and gutted, then welded back together. I don't think it helped performance, just made it louder. I will start from square 1 when it gets colder.
Can anyone lead me in the right direction for adjusting the chokes. The cables are wicked loose. So much play I don't think they are doing anything. Probably a quarter inch I can pull out of the housing. I had a pdf showing adjustment but my last computer died and did not print b-4 this happened.
