I had a power valve that was really stuck in the engine. Had a real hard time getting it out. Had to use vise grips to pull it out. The shaft now has some
teeth marks on it. What's the best way to correct this so that I can re-use it.

depending on how far down the shaft the damage is ..will be the deciding factor if it can be reused .since it passes a oil seal ...if not too bad you can use a small file and knock the burrs off it ...just make sure it passes the collar with out sticking ...post a pic so i can see how bad it is ....i send one off to the coaters that had been done the same way ...they said the coating might fill most of it in but i wont know for sure til the end of the week when it comes back ....
