Gota question. I found out today after having all my top end mic'ed out I need new pistons. Have you guys seen a 3600mi motor need new pistons before? There are pictures of my top end and pistons on my build page. But anyway after reading alot I know you guys recomend OEM pistons and parts. I was also wondering what you guys think of SPI and there pistons my local powersports recomended them vs. paying 2 to 3 times more for OEM?

i've used spi's in many polaris's and never had a single problem. very good piston in my book. i won't run any other aftermarket but them. otherwise its OEM. know guys who have been using spi for racing for years also, and never had any fail

Most of the responses you will see here will be to run OEM. The Yamaha piston is a good, high quality piece. The SPI's seem to have a good reputation and seem to work well. I've had good luck with Wiseco's, but they are sort of a love/hate sort of thing. They are all I can use in my 780 motor so I've learned how to live with them.

Ya the guys at Lakes Motorsports swear by them. They said they have been using them in everthing for the last 2 years and only had 1 failure due to improper instalation though.
