as you know, i just purchased this 2000. owners manual says to use 88 octane but no oxynated fuel.. Well Yeah ok!!!! all fuel now is 10% ethanol... In my polaris sleds of the past, I always ran 89 with no problem, Is 89 gonna be ok to run in the sxr? and what in the world is gonna happen when the ethanol goes up to E15 this winter or next? are all the older sleds gonna be obsolute?????

Most 91 octane here has 0 ethanol still.

or just get 91 or 92 octane. do the math, if your in the states. 10 cents more per gallon for the super with the 10%. 12 gallon tank x 30 rides using apprx 8 gal per ride. 30 x 8 =240 gal used x .10=$24. $24/8 rides equates to $3 per ride sounds like cheap insurance to me.

upstate ny has all 10%

all the pumps here are E10 regardless of fuel type. would 91 still benefit me even if its still 10%?

I have a '99 SX which has the same engine as yours. I have run every octane and 10% ethanol combo through it over the past 10 years without any problems. Just don't go crazy with your jetting and don't hold it open for long periods when it is 5-10 degrees or colder and you will be fine.

easyst way to re-jet the sled is to go one heat range colder on the plgs or use and iridium type plug. was told by njk rep that the eix series was designed for ethenol in gas and going one heat range colder jets your sled fatter. proved it on kirkswims viper with the srx bigbore motor last season.
