i'm finishing up my 01 srx700 here in a few weeks from a summer re-build session. i got this thing back in april and i've only ridden it across the yard to the garage. i've never owned or ridden 700 tripple (very excited and anxious for the snow to come).but i need to replace the reeds in it. i was considering Boyesen Power reeds or V-force III's. any opinions?
how do you know the reeds are bad? stick with stock OEM reeds. they are very good compared to the price you pay for aftermarket that really wont gain you anything

a few of the pedals have chips, and they have gaps where they have lost their tension
yeah stick with OEM! unless your doing porting or motor work

carbon tech carbon fiber petals work great on OEM reed cages, but i believe they are discontinued now??
They still make carbon tech reeds for the srx. Just got a set of them.

my SRX is totally stock. the only mod i may do to it is an aftermarket muffler.
IMO:
On a stock sled like yours...stick with the stock OEM muffler. Yamaha nailed the stock exhaust system, it is heavy but it makes up for it with all around performance, also I would suggest stock or carbon tech reeds.[if the reeds need replacing anyway I would choose the carbon techs].

Wasn't Carbon Tech bought out by Boyeson ?
not trying to steal the post, but my srx 700 is trail ported, should i still keep stock reeds?
my opinion on reeds is the stock reeds are better then you think in a srx/viper, I run the stock reeds(of course in new to perfect shape) until you get into a improver motor/full race, thats the only time I see any kind of help from vforce type aftermarket reeds. Its your money spend it how you want, but the $300 would be alot more bang for the buck put into clutching/gearing/set up .

Yep. Boyesen owns CT.
