SRX mountain set-up

I plan on taking my 98 700SRX out west for a spare sled and was wondering if any body has ran the heelclickers on one of these at about 9000 ft.I really dont want to go through the hassle of changing to a 21 tooth gear and I dont have the 8DN weights or GSG spring. Was thinking maybe leaving both holes in the tip empty? The sled also has a Hauck roller sec and a 136 1.5 track. It dont need to be perfect because hopefully never leaves trailer. Lowering the gearing will help huge at 9K. Stock gearing will be horrible. Run the hc,s with just some heel weight. You can add or subtract weight to the heel if you want to fine tune rpm,s with clutches on the sled. 5 minute job!
