just brought my new old gp433b home and started to take it apart. I have 110 psi on both cylinders, have spark on both cylinders also. first question is there are 2 silver box things by the recoil with blue wires but only one is plugged into anything, should they both be plugged in? Also, tomorrow I plan on buying/ordering a carb rebuild kit and new fuel lines. Is their anything else I should be looking at getting to make it run? Last question is I have a serial number of 44-011797 I cant make out the letter before the 44. Does anyone know what year this sled may be? will try to post pics soon.
Thanks Jason

Here is the Yamaha parts catalog link. Maybe you can use it to look up the different years the GP433 was produced and find the parts you are looking for to find out what they are connected to or more info to post questions on.

From my old Yamaha records the GP433B has only one year here listed, 1973.
The GP433 was made other years, but the 433B was only a single year.

yes it does look like it has to be a 73'. also the 2 little boxes by the recoil under the oil resevior with the blue wire, one goes to the taillight and the other isn't hooked to anything. should have pics of it up tonight.

I also have some sweet oil in the resevior if anybody needs it. judging by the brown gas I cleaned out the tank and the last trail permit being 1990, I think i'll pass.

the first picture is of the 2 silver boxes. the second is of the 2 blue wires but only one is hooked up and it goes to the brake light, should their even be 2 maybe one went bad so someone just bolted another one on. also what is it for? and the last picture is of the bad boy. I think i'll name it rusty.
It's a voltage regulator. You need only one.
Brake light and CDI input is normally connected to regulated voltage.

reimond thanks. I will un bolt the unused one. Do these sleds have a cdi. I didnt see on on it. I started to follow the wires from the coils and they went into the main harness. Then I spent 2 hours degreasing this thing so I could actually work on it.
