Hi All,

I've been browsing TY for quite a while now and figure its about time to register and introduce myself. I just purchased my second SRX. I owned a fully built 2000 SRX for about 3 months last winter until it burnt to the ground in a garage fire. I was heart broken lol. Anyways, I finally found what I deem to be a suitable replacement. Picked up a stock 2002 SRX this week and am very excited to begin moding it as the last one was already fully modifed.

I was wondering if any of you vets could point me in the right direction for aftermarket pipe choice. I plan to mod in stages, but would like to get pipes that will function well now, but will not limit me once I have it big bored later on. Thanks guys.

hold off buying the pipes until you get significant mods done. stock pipes are best on a stock motor, but once you start getting into cylinder/case porting, possibly a big more, then worry about aftermarket pipes once those are completed.

Stock SRX pipes will support up to 165HP. Once you get up and over that point you might want to look for a set of Benders or Haucks.

stock pipes are about impossible to beat up to about 165-168hp, even with a 780 the stock pipes will perform. like mentioned, after you progress with case porting, big bore, big carbs, etc youll need a set of bender 835 pipes(really made by dynoport). These pipes will support all the mods and let the engine work with the extensive mods, the volume is the problem with the stockers at the serious mod level, but until you reach that point, the stock pipes make the most power period!
