My Friends Wife Has A 97 Venture 500. She Claims It Has All Kinds Of Bottom Torque And Would Like To Even It Out A Little. Is There Anything I Can Do With The Secondary To Get Alittle More Top End Out Of It.

sounds like a clutching problem. i am having the same problem with my 97 et410. i know cleaning the clutches didnt help but it is a good place to start. mine will build to 80-90kph on the hard pack but as soon as i go off it drops instantly to 50-60kph and motor doesnt change rpms. i am tryin a new primary spring in mine. for hers it might be a good idea to change both springs, the plastic buttons in the secondary and smooth the helix so it is smooth to touch in the secondary. check all the rollers and weights in the primary for flat spots or tapered wear and replace as ness. start with this stuff so that others here know all the basics are done before making suggestions. this is the air cooled 500 right? not liquid cooled?
